Cedar City woman recovering from severe injuries after being hit by car on I-15, family reports

ST. GEORGE — The 18-year-old woman injured in an auto-pedestrian collision on I-15 just over one week ago is making remarkable progress, her mother told St. George News.

As previously reported, a pedestrian was struck by a Mercedes car on northbound I-15 near Kannarraville shortly before 11 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16. She was airlifted to St. George with multiple critical injuries.

The injured woman has subsequently been identified by family members as Emmie Kanosh, 18, of Cedar City.

Emmie Kanosh is a 2025 graduate of Canyon View High School, where she was a cheerleader for one year and was active in gymnastics.
