ST. GEORGE — The Washington County School District opened new teen centers at several high schools earlier this month to provide resources to students struggling with emotional or practical problems in their lives.
Four new centers have been opened in the district, not counting the one that the district opened in April at Dixie High School.
Each of the centers offers food and other supplies to students lacking resources at home, as well as a quiet place to decompress after stressful or emotional situations.
Brian Gunnell, at-risk coordinator and homeless liaison for the school district, recently wrote to St. George News about the new centers.
