Herriman opens season with upset road victory against Bountiful
The high school football season is officially underway and already there is chaos.Why did we choose this game?
The defending 5A champs open the season at home with a No. 10 standing in the preseason KSL.com Top 20+1 rankings. The Redhawks lost a bulk of their championship-winning team, but the optimism remains high for Bountiful this season.
They get an early test against a 6A opponent in Herriman, who is looking to bounce back from a three-win season last year. In the season-opener last year, Bountiful got the best of Herriman with a 27-9 win, but can they do it again this season?
The Redhawks feature a dynamic returning running back in Siaki Fekitoa, who rushed for 1,921 yards and 21 touchdowns last season. Can the Mustangs slow him down or will Bountiful start the 2025 season off the same as a year prior?
Picking up that first win is always a boost to the confidence amid a tough season of opponents.
