SNYDERVILLE, Summit County — A man who died after being hit by a vehicle on I-80 Friday night was identified Sunday as a West Jordan man.

At 11:59 p.m. Utah Highway Patrol troopers responded to a call of an incident on eastbound I-80. A man in his 20s stopped on the side of the road near a construction zone, exited his vehicle and attempted to cross I-80 toward the construction zone, UHP trooper Davies Sanchez said.

The man was then struck by a pickup truck. CPR efforts were administered. He was then taken by medical helicopter but died en route to University of Utah Hospital.

UHP identified him Sunday as Joel Sotelo Cabrera, 28.
