HYRUM, Cache County — A motorcyclist died Tuesday in a collision between a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle.

The incident was reported just before 6 a.m. The motorcyclist was traveling south on 1200 West near 3900 South, between Hyrum and Nibley, at a high rate of speed and was passing cars in the opposite lanes, according to the Cache County Sheriff's Lt. Mikelshan Bartschi.

At some point, Jose Manuel Figueroa Bejar, 24, crossed the lane and collided with an SUV, Bartschi said. Bejar, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
