KANAB — A 40-year-old Kanab man convicted of multiple felony counts of child sexual abuse has been sentenced to a minimum of 30 years in prison.
Brigham Daniel Darger was sentenced May 22 by 6th District Judge Alex Goble.
In a two-day trial that concluded April 1 in Kanab, an eight-member jury found Darger guilty on nine of the 10 counts charged, namely six counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, each a first-degree felony; one count of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony; and two counts of lewdness involving a child, a class A misdemeanor.
At the May 22 sentencing hearing, Goble noted that the six first-degree felony convictions carry mandatory prison sentences.
