WASHINGTON, Washington County — A Washington man convicted of multiple counts of sexual abuse is headed to prison.

Thomas Jared Weaver, 52, appeared Monday before District Judge Jay Winward at the 5th District Court in St. George to be sentenced on three second-degree felony counts of sexual abuse of a child and one misdemeanor count of voyeurism.

Weaver was arrested in February 2023, following a Washington Police Department investigation into allegations that he sexually abused a minor two years prior while holding a position of trust with the juvenile, as previously reported by St. George News.

Since his arrest, Weaver has been jailed without bail and, after two years of legal proceedings, was found guilty on all charges following a two-day jury trial in March.
