Banda scores twice and Orlando routs Chicago 6-0 in NWSL opener

The reigning NWSL champion Orlando Pride opened the 2025 National Women's Soccer League season with a 6-0 rout over the Chicago Star. Barbra Banda scored a pair of goals for the Pride, who tied the record for the largest win in team history. Banda, Orlando's top scorer in 2024, scored in the 80th and 87th minutes. It was Banda's second goal that was the goal of the night: Banda ripped a shot from 25 yards out. In the other match on the league's opening night, the Washington Spirit held off the Houston Dash 2-1.
