LONDON — Newcastle has beaten West Ham 1-0 away to move into sixth in the Premier League. The game warmed up the Magpies for the English League Cup final against Liverpool on Sunday. Bruno Guimaraes scored the only goal in the second half. Neither side provided much excitement on a stuffy Monday night in east London. Newcastle has jumped three places to go level with fifth-placed Manchester City on points. West Ham is 16th.
