JT Toppin of No. 9 Texas Tech is The Associated Press men's college basketball national player of the week. The 6-foot-9 sophomore and Big 12 player of the week rolled through wins against Arizona State and Oklahoma State. He had 41 points in a double-overtime win against the Sun Devils that marked the most in Division I last week. He also had 15 rebounds in that game. He followed by going for 32 points and 12 rebounds against the Cowboys. A pair of freshmen shared runner-up honors in Duke's Cooper Flagg and Texas' Tre Johnson.
