BROSSARD, Quebec — The United States learned over the weekend it would not have reigning Norris Trophy-winning defenseman Quinn Hughes for the 4 Nations Face-Off. USA Hockey tabbed 22-year-old Jake Sanderson to take Hughes' spot on the roster. Sanderson joins Brock Faber as the only players at the tournament who were in the 2022 Beijing Olympic bubble after the NHL pulled out at the eleventh hour because of pandemic-related scheduling issues. Sanderson and Faber now have the best chances of being the only U.S. players at back-to-back Olympics with their sights set on Milan a year from now.
