MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Twins were determined to add some depth to their roster despite an offseason holding pattern for their player payroll. They have finalized one-year contracts with outfielder Harrison Bader and reliever Danny Coulombe that added a guaranteed $9.25 million to the books. One of the reasons the Twins collapsed down the stretch last season was a lack of productive replacements for several key injured players. Bader is a capable backup in center field for the oft-injured Byron Buxton. Bader won a Gold Glove Award in 2021 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He can also play in the corner spots.
