Parents know how tiring it gets checking a newborn's diaper again and again and again, day and night, among all the other things it takes to keep the tiny one alive. Every bit of help makes a difference when you're in that survival stage.

Enter this pup.

Sapphie, the pomsky (a cross between a Siberian husky and a Pomeranian), is a "poop detector," according to this adorable video.

The smart pup has a set of pet buttons it can press to say what it wants or, in this case, needs. First, Sapphie goes up to the baby in a swing and sniffs him or her. Then the dog scampers over to the "poop" button and presses the command "change diaper."

When the dad questions if the baby pooped, the dog again presses the "change diaper" button. The dad then confirms.

I wish I'd had a Sapphie when my now-toddler was newborn.
