Duke freshman Cooper Flagg is The Associated Press men's college basketball national player of the week. It comes after the 18-year-old scored 42 points against Notre Dame to set an Atlantic Coast Conference freshman single-game record. Flagg made 11 of 14 shots to go with six rebounds and seven assists. He also had 19 points against Pittsburgh. That helped him win the AP honor for the second time this season. Iowa State guard Curtis Jones was runner-up for the honor after big showings in wins against Utah and Texas Tech. Ohio's AJ Clayton and Georgia's Asa Newell earned honorable mention status.
