MILLCREEK — An 80-year-old man found dead on the Mount Olympus trailhead on Christmas Day appears to have been the victim of a fall, according to police.

William Thomas was found unresponsive about 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday about a mile up the trail, the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office stated. Medical crews responded, but Thomas died at the scene.

The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office said Thursday that Thomas' death appears to be the result of a fall.
