CLEARFIELD — A loose trailer hitch crashed into a semitruck's windshield after another car kicked it up Sunday afternoon.

Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Luis Silva said the trailer hitch damaged eight cars and one semi traveling south on Interstate 15 near 650 North in Clearfield about 4:45 p.m.

A motorist, Marc Guimond, said, "We were just coming into Clearfield Pass on the 650 Exit when a large hitch fell off a pickup truck about two lanes over from us, slid into our lane and hit our vehicle, causing a flat tire."

Silva said the cars only suffered flat tires while the semi sustained damage to its windshield. No injuries were reported.

Guimond told KSL-TV that it looked like his car's alignment was thrown off along with the tire damage.
