SALT LAKE CITY — A wet Monday morning is forecasted across Utah.

A cold front will bring snow between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m., especially in the mountain areas from Summit County to Cache County, according to the Utah Department of Transportation.

"All upper canyons and summits across northern Utah will see at least a couple inches of road snow, with the highest snow totals expected in the Cottonwoods and along U.S. 89 near Logan Summit," UDOT said in a weather alert.

The transportation department also warned of snow accumulating along the Interstate 15 corridor north of Farmington and the Interstate 215 benches in the Salt Lake Valley.

The following roads are expected to be impacted by snow at some point in the day:

  • I-15, north of Farmington
  • I-84
  • I-80, the mouth of Parley's Canyon to Wyoming border
  • I-215, eastern bench
  • State Route 190, Big Cottonwood Canyon
  • State Route 210, Little Cottonwood Canyon
  • U.S. 40, I-80 junction, over Mayflower Summit; Daniels Canyon/Summit
  • U.S. 6, Soldier Summit
  • U.S. 89, Logan Summit through Bountiful
  • U.S. 191, US-191 Summit
  • State Route 30, curlew to I-84 junction
  • State Route 39
  • State Route 150 (especially Bald Mountain Pass)
  • State Route 35, Francis through Wolf Creek Summit
  • State Route 31, Skyline
  • State Route 44, Summit

The National Weather Service of Salt Lake City predicts snow will continue through Tuesday afternoon in the higher elevations and might continue into Wednesday. It also reports Tuesday and Wednesday mornings will be the coldest mornings Utah has experienced so far in this winter season.
