PROVO — Three people were injured in a crash in Provo Tuesday.

At about 3:15 p.m., a Nissan truck was southbound on State Street when a Toyota Scion turned left in front of the truck at 1720 North, Provo police spokeswoman Janna-Lee Holland said. The cars collided and both drivers had to be extracted from their vehicles.

The truck driver and a passenger sustained moderate injuries and were taken to Utah Valley Hospital, police said.

The Scion driver was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital, and as of 8 p.m., he had been stabilized, though, police initially said the injuries were life-threatening.

The area was closed for a few hours while police investigated the accident.
