In the pairs event, Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara began the medal haul for Japan by following up their dazzling short program with a winning free skate. Ellie Kam and Danny O'Shea took silver and American teammates Alisa Efimova and Misha Mitrofanov bronze. Ilia Malinin led the men's competition after his short program while Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson lead the ice dance competition.
