WILLARD — One man died and two people were injured in a collision on U.S. 89 in Box Elder County over the weekend.
A Nissan Sentra traveling north on the highway in Willard crossed over into the southbound lanes and hit a Hyundai Santa Fe about 11:35 p.m. Friday, said Utah Highway Patrol agent Tara Stump. The passenger in the Sentra was killed in the crash.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to nearby hospitals and were expected to survive, Stump said.
Stump said the man who was killed is from Mexico, and officials have not yet released his identity pending the notification of his family.
The cause of the crash is unclear, and more information was not immediately available.
