MINNEAPOLIS — Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves are coming to terms with the departure of franchise cornerstone Karl-Anthony Towns. The Timberwolves reached an agreement on a trade with the New York Knicks to deal Towns for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo. The timing of the deal just four days before the beginning of training camp stunned the players who grew fond of Towns on and off the court. Edwards is the clear go-to guy for a team aiming high after a trip to the Western Conference finals last season. He saw Towns as his co-star as well as a close friend.
