MILLCREEK — A Holladay man was charged Monday with firing a shot at another driver during a road rage confrontation.

Kenneth Alfonzo Richardson, 33, is charged in 3rd District Court with aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm, second-degree felonies.

On Sept. 21, police say Richardson began driving aggressively behind another driver. At one point, near 4500 South and 1300 East, Richardson drove into the bike lane and tried cutting off the victim, said Unified Police Sgt. Aymee Race.

The victim told police that Richardson, who was driving a Kia, "then pointed a firearm at (him). (The victim) swerved his Toyota around the Kia, and at the same time heard a single gunshot. A shell casing was located on scene," according to charging documents.

After collecting information that showed the Kia was registered to Richardson, police served a warrant on his home on Sept. 25 and took him into custody.
