For many Americans, becoming healthier and losing weight are top of mind. After a health scare, Chris Cornell decided that enough was enough. He was motivated to improve his health and fitness and approached it like many do — with a low-carb diet. After months of adhering to his new food choices, he had lost an incredible 80 pounds of body fat.

Dropping so much weight was only the beginning. Cornell wanted even more knowledge on health, fitness, and how to improve his quality of life. Fasting until early afternoon and drinking protein shakes were part of his routine, until a prominent scientist and researcher suggested he try adding fat to the mix.

Though it seems like fat would be unhelpful, the mixture was essential in achieving his new fitness goals. Cornell said he started drinking the HLTH Code Complete Meal Replacement shake every day. Filled with protein, healthy fats and probiotic fiber, the shake is designed to replace a meal without sacrificing essential nutrition.

Cornell wrote on LinkedIn, "I've experienced a noticeable increase in energy throughout the day, improved satiety, and significant gains in both strength and endurance."

According to UCLA Health, eating healthy fats can help lower the risk of heart disease as well as improve cholesterol levels and blood sugar control. Olive, avocado, and flaxseed oils are all healthy fats found in HLTH Code Complete Meals.

Though one serving of the meal replacement shake is enough to sustain the average person for one meal, Cornell experimented with his intake. He said by drinking two full servings of the shake, he experienced more energy and fullness throughout his day — especially with his muscle-building goals.

"The results have been remarkable, especially in terms of energy and satiety. With more consistent energy, I've pushed my fitness goals further, improving strength, endurance, and VO2 max. My daily step count has soared from around 5,000 to over 10,000," Cornell explained.

Why the nutrition label matters

There are hundreds of meal replacement shakes on the market today, but they don't have the full spectrum of nutrition required to completely replace a healthy meal.

HLTH Code CEO Joel Bikman explained that proper nutrition comes from both the macronutrients and the quality of ingredients. Daily nutrition should include healthy fatty acids, amino acids from protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals.

Bikman emphasized the importance of getting a 1:1 fat to protein ratio from high-quality sources. He said egg whites, collagen, and whey protein are all excellent sources of protein. Good sources of healthy fats can be found in coconut, olive oil, avocado, MCT oil, flaxseed and vegan cocoa butter. With a good balance of these nutrients, Bikman said people can expect to see higher energy levels and feeling full longer.

Cornell confirmed this theory when he said he didn't start seeing an increase in energy levels and strength until he started getting all of the proper nutrients to fuel his fitness goals.

"Despite my initial reservations about adding a morning meal, the double serving of HLTH Code at 10:30 am has led to better energy levels throughout the day and significantly reduced my evening cravings. Where I once struggled with a desire for late-night snacks, I now find myself content and rarely, if ever, experiencing hunger or cravings," he wrote.

Don't sacrifice taste

Because everyone needs food to survive, eating meals should be tasty and enjoyable. In a 2019 review, researchers found many reasons people might not like nutrient rich foods. One reason is nutrient poor foods are engineered to be tasty, while nutrient-rich foods pale in comparison to the unhealthier options.

Bikman and his brother created HLTH Code to taste great. If you don't like what you're eating, you most likely won't stick with it.

Cornell's review speaks volumes. "One incredible added benefit is how delicious these shakes are. I now look forward to them as much as I ever looked forward to a milkshake," he said.

He isn't the only one who loves the flavor. Among thousands of five-star reviews, people consistently mention the taste and the creaminess.

Reviewer Sherilyn H. said, "Best tasting meal replacement I've tried!!"

Lisa P. raved, "The best quality shake I have ever had. The taste is perfect, both for the chocolate and vanilla. I recommend this shake to my friends and family."
