North Carolina quarterback Max Johnson will miss the rest of the season after having surgery for a broken right leg. That came after he was carted off in the season-opening win at Minnesota and taken to the hospital. The school announced Johnson's status on Friday, saying he had surgery in Minneapolis and is accompanied by his parents there. He will return to Chapel Hill in coming days and is expected to make a full recovery. Conner Harrell led the Tar Heels the rest of the way in Thursday's 19-17 win.
