SPANISH FORK — A California woman with a lengthy criminal history was arrested in Utah after police say she fled from officers while driving impaired, tried to hit deputies with her vehicle and had an assortment of drugs in her car.
Danielle Sara Deloss, 37, of San Diego, was booked into the Utah County Jail early Thursday for investigation of multiple counts of assault on an officer with a dangerous weapon, drug possession, DUI and possession of someone else's bank card, and more.
The incident began Wednesday night when a Utah County sheriff's deputy spotted a possible intoxicated driver on southbound I-15 near Spanish Fork.
"He was concerned for other vehicles on the roadway as she had almost struck several vehicles," a police booking affidavit states.
The driver, Deloss, did not pull over, even when the deputy pulled up next to her and made eye contact, according to the affidavit. An ensuing chase reached a speed of 112 mph as, police say, Deloss weaved in and out of traffic. At one point during the chase, a patrol car with two officers "began pushing the vehicle to the shoulder," causing Deloss to speed up and attempt "to ram the passenger side of his vehicle."
Tire spikes were used by the Utah Highway Patrol as the fleeing car crossed into Juab County, before it "made an abrupt stop" near Mona, the affidavit states. "The vehicle stopped on the right shoulder of the roadway and the female driver was removed from the vehicle by gunpoint."
Officers then reported finding "the vehicle was completely full of items," including drug paraphernalia, numerous beer cans and an open bottle of liquor.
After identifying Deloss, investigators learned she has an active warrant out of California "and has a very lengthy criminal history" that includes convictions in California and West Virginia for drugs and possession of stolen property; and is charged in a domestic violence case in Nevada, the affidavit says.
Police say they tested Deloss' blood and she "tested positive for amphetamines, suboxone, fentanyl and methamphetamines," according to the arrest report.
