SAINT-DENIS, France — Belgian star Nafissatou Thiam put herself in select company by winning her third straight Olympic title in the heptathlon. The 29-year-old Thiam became just the second woman to win the same track and field event in three straight Games, joining Polish hammer thrower Anita Wlodarczyk. Thiam posted a total of 6,880 points in a competition that features seven events across various track-and-field disciplines. That was just enough to edge silver medalist Katrina Johnson-Thompson of Britain. Thiam says she's not ready to consider whether she will press on to the 2028 Games, preferring instead to enjoy the moment.
