MONTIGNY-LE-BRETONNEUX, France — American cyclist Chloe Dygert is finally an Olympic champion after a career-threatening injury and numerous disappointments. On a hot night at the velodrome outside of Paris, she teamed with Kristen Faulkner, Jennifer Valente and Lily Williams to win the team pursuit at the Olympics. The gold medal was a long time coming for the 27-year-old from Brownsburg, Indiana, who has fought back from her crash at the world championships in Italy, the Epstein-Barr virus and a heart condition that required surgery. It was her second medal of the Paris Games after Dygert rallied from a crash to win bronze in the time trial.
