SAINT-QUENTIN-EN-YVELINES, France — Hideki Matsuyama is the leader after one round of Olympic men's golf. He played bogey-free at Le Golf National for a 63 and leads by two over double major winner Xander Schauffele. But the big story for the opening round was outside the ropes. The crowd was far bigger than most players expected. There were close to 20,000 spectators, and they saw quite a shot. It started with Victor Perez of France hitting the opening tee shot. Forty-one players from the 60-man field broke par. Masters champion Scottie Scheffler opened with a 67. Rory McIlroy was another shot back.
