VAIRES-SUR-MARNE, France — Evy Leibfarth of the United States earned a bronze medal in women's canoe slalom. She was sitting in third place with one competitor standing between her and a first first Olympic medal. The Czech Republic' Gabriela Satkova faded in the middle of the course though allowing the 20-year-old Leibfarth of North Carolina to hold on and earn bronze. She won with her father Lee Leibfarth coaching her. Australia's Jessica Fox won the event for the second straight Olympics and Germany's Elena Lilik finished second.
