MILLCREEK — The motorcycle rider that was killed after being hit by a car Friday evening in Millcreek has been identified as 33-year-old Nicholas Purdy.
Just before 9 p.m., Unified police received multiple calls from witnesses about a motorcyclist who was hit at 3900 South and Highland Drive.
Unified police said a motorcycle was headed north on Highland and turning west when it was hit by a car heading south. Sgt. Aymee Race said the vehicle was proceeding through the intersection on a green light, but unfortunately the motorcyclist turned in front of the driver.
Purdy, of Millcreek, was killed in the crash.
The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The intersection was expected to remain closed for a few hours Friday night while police responded to the scene.
