TROON, Scotland — Every continent and country goes on big runs in the majors. The Europeans ruled the Masters in during a decade in the 1980s and 1990s. Irish golf had a big run. And now it's the Americans. They have won the last seven majors, the longest streak since Americans won 13 in a row in the mid-1970s. And for the first time since 1982, they have swept the four majors. Laurie Canter remembers his early days of struggle in golf and how Shane Lowry looked after him. Hideki Matsuyama has made 18 consecutive cuts in the majors.
