OREM — A Spanish Fork man was charged Monday with engaging in an illegal sexual relationship with a teenage girl.
Soo Yong Im, 34, is charged in 4th District Court with sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony; and three counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and dealing in harmful materials to a minor, third-degree felonies.
Im met a 15-year-old girl at a skating rink in Provo in 2021, through mutual friends, according to prosecutors. He was 31 at the time.
"They began dating soon after and dated until December 2022," the charges state.
Charging documents outline several sexual encounters in a car, a residence and through a FaceTime call. Orem police investigated the case.
