Joost Luiten is back in the mix for the Olympics, but only as an alternate. The International Golf Federation has added the Dutch golfer to an alternate list. The IGF is still hopeful the International Olympic Committee will allow an extra player at the men's competition in the Paris Games. Luiten qualified through the Olympic criteria. But Dutch Olympic officials did not confirm his entry because of their criteria that a player have a reasonable chance to finish among the top eight in the Olympics. Luiten got a Dutch court to back him, but by then he already had been replaced.
