FIELDING, Box Elder County — A 54-year-old woman was taken to the hospital after getting caught in some agricultural equipment Monday night.

Around 7:15 p.m. Monday, deputies were called out to the town of Fielding, about 10 miles north of Tremonton, for a woman who was injured by an auger attached to a tractor.

The auger was running next to a fence when a fence wire got caught in the auger, causing it to grab the woman who was standing nearby and pull her in, Box Elder County Chief Deputy Sheriff Cade Palmer said. She received severe injuries to her legs, with both breaking and one being a near amputation.

The family member who was operating the tractor with the attached auger called 911.

The woman was flown to an Ogden hospital in critical condition, Palmer said. As of Tuesday afternoon, Palmer did not have an update on her condition and her identity has not been released.
