VAL DI SOLE, Italy — Nino Schurter of Switzerland and Pauline Ferrand-Prevot of France won the mountain bike World Cup races in Italy on Sunday. It was a big statement by the veteran riders that they are still among the ones to beat at the Paris Games in just over a month. Schurter, a three-time Olympic medalist, held off Alan Hatherly while Mathis Azzaro won the sprint for third in the men's race at Val di Sole. Ferrand-Prevot won the women's race by 50 seconds over Puck Pieterse, while Candice Lill overcame Loana Lecomte to take the bronze medal in the best finish of her career.
