FORT WORTH, Texas — Shilese Jones has pulled out of the U.S. gymnastics championships because of a shoulder injury. Jones says she plans to petition USA Gymnastics for a spot at the Olympic Trials in Minneapolis at the end of June. The 21-year-old Jones is considered a leading contender to make the five-woman U.S. Olympic team this summer. Jones is a six-time world championship medalist. She came in a strong second place to Simone Biles at the U.S. Classic in mid-May.
