WEST JORDAN — A juvenile died after losing control of his motorcycle on Mountain View Corridor near 9100 South early Saturday.

About 7:08 a.m., police responded to reports of a fatal crash involving a bike and a juvenile. They later determined the bike was a motorcycle.

"From my own perspective, rolling up on an accident where you have a juvenile, it's one of the worst things you can see as an officer. ...These are always hard for the officers, hard for the paramedics, hard for everybody who is on scene," said West Jordan Police Sgt. Andrew Hercules.

Hercules said it appeared the driver lost control of the motorcycle and crashed. He said investigators were still working to determine if weather or speed played a factor in the crash.

The crash did not involve any other vehicles, Hercules said, and the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hercules did not know if the juvenile was wearing a helmet. The boy's name and age had not been released Saturday evening.
