HIGHWAY TO THE DANGER ZONE — If an airplane and a car approach each other on the highway, who has the right of way? That question might come to mind when you see the bizarre clip we're featuring today.
Captured by a dash camera, the footage shows a car traveling on the left side of a two-lane highway. Suddenly, a small plane appears in the distance. As it gets closer, cars are forced to move to the shoulders of the road to give the low-flying aircraft plenty of space.
What on earth was going on here? I'm no aviation expert, but I'd say that plane was about 500 feet lower than it was supposed to be. If it had encountered a taller vehicle, such as an RV or a Taylor Swift tour bus, it could potentially even have made contact.
Here's a wild theory … maybe the cars were mistakenly traveling on a runway where they are at fault? I was once on a remote island with my family and we accidentally took a wrong turn and ended up driving on the runway at a small airport. It was only when a plane came in for a landing that we realized our mistake and quickly veered out of the way.
But, even though I have personal experience with these types of driving errors, I'm realizing it definitely doesn't apply to this scenario. Highway dividers are clearly visible and you can see cars traveling in the opposite direction.
So whatever the reason for this stunt, this pilot needs to lose their wings immediately.
