LOGAN — A construction worker in Logan badly injured his legs during a construction accident in which he fell about 30 feet.

Logan Fire Department said the fall occurred just after 2:30 p.m. at 1570 N. 670 East in North Logan. A 50-year-old construction worker fell about 30 feet from scaffolding at a construction site.

Logan Fire Lt. John Fullmer said the man fell into mud and missed most of the scaffolding and concrete nearby on the ground. Still, both of his legs were broken and badly injured.

Fullmer said bystanders applied tourniquets to the worker's legs before he was taken to the hospital.

The cause of the fall is still being investigated.
