Or so it would seem.
TikTok user therealslimshady2023 posted a video Tuesday of a man in a restaurant wearing a Dallas Mavericks "Conference Champions 2026" hat. Commenters were quick to joke about betting their life savings on the Mavericks making the 2026 NBA Finals, but others were a little more skeptical.
The video was reposted on X by Overtime, and user @LarryBirdzz_ replied with a photo of the Mavericks' 2006 conference champions hat that looks oddly similar.

Another reply said it looked like the 2006 hat with a "2" drawn over the second zero, but it's certainly a lot more fun to imagine this mysterious drifter is actually from the future and is trying to tell us something.
Reebok — whose logo is seen on the side of the cap — commented on the original TikTok, saying, "Genuinely can neither confirm nor deny if we made the hat …"
