OGDEN — With December's early signing day period, Weber State recruited and signed nine new additions to the team for the 2024 season.
The Wildcats' nine freshmen will add a variety to the current team, with five defensive players and four offensive players.
Three of the new recruits are coming from the same high school, St. John Bosco, in California, including corner Frankie Edwards, safety Tamal Johnson, and running back Chauncey Sylvester. Mason York, a wide receiver, also joins Weber State from a high school in California.
Corner Zavien Abercrombie and running back Davion Godley come from Texas, while safety Semisi Kinikini and linebacker Zach Smith are from Utah. Defensive end Ryan Bingham will travel down from Idaho to join the team.
"This is a special group that we have signed that all come from great families," Wildcats head coach Mickey Mental said. "This is a good class to address some of our needs, and we will add pieces to it to complete this class."
Weber State finished the 2023 season with a 6-5 record, with hopes of improving next season with their new recruits.
