TOOELE — A Tooele man has been arrested and accused of threatening a Palestinian rights organization as part of a federal investigation.

The U.S. Justice Department on Monday announced that a criminal complaint has been filed against 62-year-old Kevin Brent Buchanan. He is charged with transmitting in interstate commerce a threat to injure.

Between Oct. 31 and Nov. 2, Buchanan "called the organization and left at least five voice messages stating, in part, 'You're the enemy,' 'You're being catalogued,' 'You're gonna die' and 'You're dead people walking,'" according to a statement from the Justice Department. The statement does not say what organization was allegedly threatened.

FBI agents from Washington, D.C. investigated the case with assistance from agents at the Salt Lake City office and the U.S. Attorney's Office for Utah. Buchanan was taken into custody on Friday.
