Owning a vacation home sounds nice in theory. Having somewhere to escape and relax at a moment's notice is something most people daydream about. But unless you have a third party managing the needs of your home, it's less dreamy than you might think. In short order, your second home can become a second job.

Typically, a second home comes with a host of headaches for the owner. You bear 100% of the responsibilities for landscaping, irrigation, cleanup, property damage, and security — and that's just the outside. Don't forget about cleaning, laundry, repairs, replacements and stocking all the necessary items on the inside of the house. That's sure to cut into your vacation and relaxation time.

There's a better way to enjoy your vacation property. When you're an owner of an Ember home, the burden is non-existent. Yes, you read correctly. You and up to seven other owners enjoy the perks of the property and Ember takes care of the maintenance and all the hassles.

Maybe you've heard about this concept before. But if you haven't tried Ember's approach, you don't know what you're missing. They've taken steps to make this as easy and enjoyable as possible. You may be thinking this sounds like a timeshare. It's most definitely not a timeshare. Ember homeowners enjoy true equity in their home.

Here's how it works: As a one-eighth owner, you share the cost of the property with up to seven other owners. That means you shoulder one-eighth of the cost of the home, the property taxes, utilities, repairs, fees and more – instead of the full amount. Ember's proprietary app makes scheduling your stays 100% equitable for all owners (e.g., holidays).

As for all the outdoor, indoor and property maintenance, you hand that over to Ember. That's right — you do none of it. When you free yourself from the stress and pressure of managing a luxury vacation home, you gain the space to actually enjoy your stays. No more wasting time working on house projects or issues!

And now you have even more getaway options. On top of locations in St. George, Park City and Southern California, Ember recently expanded into the 30A area of Florida. Also known as the "Emerald Coast," 30A features beautiful beach towns along Florida's scenic Highway 30A between Panama City Beach and Destin. Owning a vacation home in this area comes with several advantages. Here are just a few of them.

Charming communities

There's no shortage of charming communities in 30A, like Seaside, Grayton Beach, Seagrove, and Seacrest, each of which has unique character and amenities. Enjoy a strong sense of community, walkability, and a relaxed coastal lifestyle.

"You won't find many tourist traps, big hotels or massive condo units in 30A," Summer Hall writes for The Points Guy. "Instead, you'll find a much calmer approach to beach life with more families than college kids and more local shops with cult-like followings than chains."

And don't forget about the most important part: the food.

"The 30A towns have all the shrimp, grits and fantastic views your stomach and soul could possibly want," Hall adds.

Beautiful beaches

What would a Florida vacation home be without the beach? If you like pristine white sand beaches and gorgeous emerald-green water, you'll fall in love with 30A. Whether you enjoy beachcombing, swimming, sunbathing or water sports, it's a true haven for beach enthusiasts.

Looking for something closer to home?

Though it's more red rock than white sand beaches, Ember's vacation homes for co-ownership in St. George offer something a little closer to home for those who don't want to travel far. And the amenities are just as impressive! Spend your days golfing, biking, visiting national parks and eating great food. It's got all the ingredients for the perfect vacation destination at 1/8th the cost.

Two types of rentals available

Ember offers two kinds of co-ownership homes: Ember Flex and Ember Limited.

With Ember Flex, you have the flexibility to rent out your vacation home during the weeks you aren't there. You can also easily swap weeks with other owners.

With Ember Limited, your use of the home is limited to you and your guests (i.e., it cannot be rented by any of the owners). You can book last-minute stays or up to two years in advance. Like Ember Flex, every one-eighth owner gets up to 44 or more nights each year.

Co-own your dream vacation home at a fraction of the cost with no hassle

If you've always dreamed of owning a vacation home and you want to do it in the most affordable, stress-free way possible, Ember is your ticket. Let them help you find the vacation home that fits your lifestyle. To learn more, visit emberhome.com or call 800-366-6891.
