KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Frankie Montas earned the win out of the bullpen in his season debut as the Yankees beat the Royals 5-2 on Saturday night. Gleyber Torres drove in a pair of runs during a go-ahead sixth inning for New York. Oswaldo Cabrera, Everson Pereira and Estevan Florial also drove in runs for the Yankees, who improved to 82-79 to clinch their 31st straight winning season with one game to spare. That's the second-longest streak in Major League history behind their own 39-year run from 1926-64. Kansas City fell to 55-106 and matched the 2005 team for the most losses in a season in club history. Alec Marsh allowed three runs over 4 1/3 innings to take the loss for the Royals.
