KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Every batter Kansas City sent up against Yankees starter Carlos Rodón scored, resulting in a nine-run first inning, and the Royals rolled to a 12-5 victory over New York. Bobby Witt Jr. added a two-run homer in the seventh to become the first Kansas City player in the 30-30 club. He now has 30 home runs to go with 49 stolen bases, and needs only one more steal to join Eric Davis, Barry Bonds and Ronald Acuña Jr. in the 30-50 club. Edward Oliveras also homered for Kansas City, and Austin Wells went deep for New York. Jordan Lyles earned the win by allowing five runs over six innings.
