SALT LAKE CITY — After last week's slate of unexpectedly entertaining games, this week promises to be a star-studded one, with several top 25 matchups bound to bring the excitement into your sports-loving home.
Here are five non-local matchups to tune into during Week 4.
No. 6 Ohio State at No. 9 Notre Dame
Saturday, Sept. 23, 5:30 p.m. MDT (NBC)
Ohio State and Notre Dame faced each other in last year's season opener, with the Buckeyes beating the Fighting Irish 21-10. So far, neither team has truly been tested, and this game will determine if both teams deserve to be in the top 10. Does Notre Dame have what it takes to beat Ohio State? Or will this game be deja vu for the players?
No. 14 Oregon State at No. 21 Washington State
Saturday, Sept. 23, 5 p.m. MDT (FOX)
On Saturday, you can watch the entire Pac-12 (or should I say Pac-2?) play against each other! In fact, Oregon State and Washington State have filed a lawsuit against the conference after all the other members abandoned ship. Ironically, this week, the Pac-12 has eight ranked teams, which is the most the conference has ever had. Washington State and Oregon State have had undefeated seasons so far, which should make this game even more intriguing.
No. 15 Ole Miss at No. 13 Alabama
Saturday, Sept. 23, 1:30 p.m. MDT (CBS)
Alabama fans are in shambles as their beloved team is ranked outside the top 10 for the first time since 2015. Although Jalen Milroe has been named the starter for this week, there is still uncertainty as to who the Crimson Tide's starting quarterback will be going forward. Other than facing Tulane, this will be Ole Miss' biggest test this season, and the public is curious to see just how far Alabama can fall.
No. 19 Colorado at No. 10 Oregon
Saturday, Sept. 23, 1:30 p.m. MDT (ABC)
Everyone is still talking about Colorado's double overtime win against Colorado State last week. The game was a "personal" one for Colorado as Sanders led his team to victory again. Oregon head coach Dan Lanning seems to be over the Colorado hype and hopes to be the team that takes them down.
In an interview over the summer, Lanning said:
"I'm trying to remember what they won to affect this conference. I don't remember. Do you remember them winning anything? I don't remember them winning anything."
No. 24 Iowa at No. 7 Penn State
Saturday, Sept. 23, 5:30 p.m. MDT (CBS)
Iowa moved up in the rankings after beating Western Michigan last week; however, this week's game will be a bigger challenge for the Hawkeyes as Penn State continues to be a consistent team and a threat to make the College Football Playoff. Iowa quarterback Cade McNamara seems to still be adjusting to his new team and has had a mediocre start to the season.
