SALT LAKE CITY — Everybody's record is 0-0, and we have the whole season ahead of us here at KSL.com Sports College Football Pick'em.

Like last year, points will be awarded based on predicting the winning team and how close you get to the final score of each game. This year starts off with a banger between No. 14 Utah and the Florida Gators in Salt Lake City, so buckle up and don't forget to make your picks.

No. 14 Utah (0-0) vs. Florida (0-0)

Thursday, Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. MDT at Rice-Eccles Stadium (ESPN)

Who starts the game at QB for Utah might still be a mystery, but the Utes still have enough talent for head coach Kyle Whittingham to call the current squad one of the "top two or three" teams he has coached during his time in Salt Lake.

The Gators came out on top in a tight battle a year ago when these two teams played in Gainesville, Florida, but Anthony Richardson is now a member of the Indianapolis Colt and the Utes have home-field advantage this time around.

Line: Utah -4.0

Over/under: 43.5

Utah State (0-0) vs. No. 25 Iowa (0-0)

Saturday, Sept. 2 at 10 a.m. MDT at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City, Iowa (FS1)

On paper, this year's "pay game" for Utah State should be a little easier compared to last year's. The Aggies travel to No. 25 Iowa instead of then-No. 1 Alabama, where the team lost 55-0.

Still, Utah State finds itself hitting the road as a 25-point underdog to start head coach Blake Anderson's third season at the helm in Logan. Orem High alum Cooper Legas is back and healthy as the Aggies' starting QB to lead the charge into a new era under athletic director Diana Sabou.

Line: Iowa -24.0

Over/under: 44

No. 21 North Carolina (0-0) vs. South Carolina (0-0)

Saturday, Sept. 2 at 5:30 p.m. MDT at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina (ABC)

It's the battle of the Carolinas in Week 1 and a clash between the ACC and SEC. The teams had strikingly similar seasons in 2022, both finishing with five losses, including falling in their respective bowl games.

Quarterback Drake Maye leads the way for North Carolina after winning ACC Player of the Year in 2022, and Spencer Rattler will start for the Gamecocks in his final collegiate year.

Line: North Carolina -2.5

Over/under: 64.5

Sam Houston (0-0) vs. BYU (0-0)

Saturday, Sept. 2 at 8:15 p.m. MDT at LaVell Edwards Stadium (FS1)

The Cougars welcome the Bearkats for the opening game of the Big 12 era in Provo.

Pitt transfer and former USC quarterback Kedon Slovis will be under center for the Cougars, while the Conference USA Bearkats will look to improve upon a sub-par 5-4 season in 2022 that ended with a loss to Southern Utah.

Line: BYU -20.0

Over/under: 46.5

No. 5 LSU (0-0) vs. No. 8 Florida State (0-0)

Sunday, Sept. 3 at 5:30 p.m. MDT Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida (ABC)

It's the Camping World Kickoff in Florida between a pair of top 10 teams representing the SEC and ACC. Both teams won 10 games in 2022 and look to make an early statement on their College Football Playoff resumes.

The Tigers and Seminoles are both led by seniors at the quarterback position, with Jordan Travis starting for Florida State and Arizona State transfer Jayden Daniels returning to LSU for his final year.

Line: LSU -2.5

Over/under: 56
