SALT LAKE CITY — The college football season is finally upon us, and we couldn't be happier.
It starts off strong with a Thursday night game between No. 14 Utah and the visiting Florida Gators at Rice-Eccles Stadium in a highly-anticipated rematch of last season's back-and-forth affair that ended with quarterback Cam Rising throwing an interception in the end zone to seal a Gators victory.
But with Rising not expected to get the start for the Utes as he recovers from an ACL injury, can Utah keep its home-winning streak alive or will Florida come out on top again? We're looking forward to see how it shakes out.
(Let this be a reminder to get your picks in early to get point for that Thursday night game.)
Utah State opens up the Saturday slate of games (10 a.m. MDT, FS1) on the road with a Top-25 matchup against Iowa after an offseason that saw a nearly complete overhaul of its roster. And then BYU closes out the night (8:15 p.m. MDT, FS1) against Sam Houston State, a team in its first season at the FBS level, with a new defensive coordinator joining the ranks.
There's also two other fun matchups — North Carolina vs. South Carolina on Saturday, and LSU vs. Florida State on Sunday — for you to pick this week. It's time to get excited about the season and see if you can claim the bragging rights for the 2023 season.
So head on over to KSL.com Pick'em and fill out your weekly ballot.
