WEST VALLEY CITY — A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash with a Utah Transit Authority shuttle on Friday.
The crash occurred about 2 p.m. at the intersection of 2320 South and Redwood Road. The motorcycle was northbound and the shuttle bus was in the intersection making a left-hand turn when the collision occurred, according to West Vally City Police Lt. Jason Vincent.
The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital in critical condition with "serious injuries to his lower extremities," he said.
There were no passengers onboard the shuttle bus during the crash, Vincent said.
The intersection was closed for a few hours while police investigated the scene. It was expected to be reopened by 5:30 p.m.
Correction: An earlier version incorrectly reported the intersection of 2320 South and Redwood Road as 2300 South and Redwood Road.
