SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz have agreed to trade reserve center Damian Jones to the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to ESPN.

The Jazz won't be getting back a player in return. The Cavs will absorb Jones' 2.5 million salary which will open up a bit more cap room for the Jazz, and get Utah down to 15 rostered players.

Jones played in 19 games last season for the Jazz after being acquired at the trade deadline in the deal that sent Mike Conley to Minnesota. He averaged 4.6 points and 3.5 rebounds in Utah, while shooting a surprising 10-for-14 from the 3-point line. Last month, Jones opted into the final year of his contract.

Utah's roster now stands at 15 (the regular season maximum) but that includes the non-guaranteed contracts for Kris Dunn, Luka Samanic and Vernon Carey Jr.

The trade gives the Jazz about $14 million in cap space if they choose to only bring back Dunn.
